Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Infant Monitoring

Objectives

• Review the literature on infant monitoring from video, neonatal pose estimation, General Movements Assessment automation
• Dataset annotation (the dataset is already partially annotated)
• Development and training of a Machine Learning or Deep Learning framework to address one of the aforementioned tasks (one or more, depending on the timeframe and the thesis student’s preferences)

·         Validate the model's performance and (eventually) optimize its inference time

Requirements

·         Good knowledge of Deep Learning fundamentals (CNNs, training procedures, evaluation protocols) and PyTorch

·         Good knowledge of Computer Vision and of libraries such as OpenCV and NumPy

·         Ability to read scientific papers in English
